Methodology

Months to recoup = typical certificate ÷ (median annual pay ÷ 12), on gross median pay, one decimal. Cost÷pay = typical certificate ÷ median pay. Typical certificate is the city-hub midpoint of the researched certificate band, rounded to $100 — the same figure those pages already render ($11,300 / $11,500 / $13,300). That is not a listing sample: a cheap Los Angeles community-college row is not the LA typical of $13,300. Nevada's Cost Index state tuition median is insufficient (n=4, below n=5); this table does not publish one — Las Vegas uses the city hub only. National training cost is the Cost Index directory median, not a typical-certificate midpoint; national annual openings are unpublished rather than scaled from metro estimates.
